Frequently asked questions

How does EXIF date renaming work?

Every digital photo contains EXIF metadata including the exact date and time it was taken. Our tool reads this information and renames the file using the selected format.

What happens if two photos have the same date and time?

If several photos have exactly the same date and time, a numeric suffix is added automatically (for example: 2024-01-15_14-30-45_1.jpg, 2024-01-15_14-30-45_2.jpg).

What if my photo has no EXIF date?

Photos without an EXIF date are marked with an orange badge. You can ignore them or use the file modification date instead.

Are my photos safe?

Yes. Your photos never leave your device. All processing happens in your browser, with no upload to the internet.

Is photo renaming free?

Yes, photo renaming is free and requires no sign-up. To process large volumes or use it regularly, switch to Pro.
